GDPR Confidentiality and how your Information is used
Thank you for viewing my website.
Any information that you provide via this website is held with the strictest confidence. I only use your Information to contact you and assess whether therapy and the way that I work with you is viable. As you have not yet entered a contractual agreement if it is decided that we will not go ahead I will dispose of your Information immediately.
Should therapy go ahead then whilst we agree the contract I will advise you of:
A. How long I keep your Information
B. Any caveats to breaking confidentiality which is only if you are at risk of harm to self or others and if summoned to via the courts.
C. For supervision purposes to ensure that I am working ethically. All supervisors are also held to BACP standards and therefore have to keep your Information private.
D. How you can obtain any information I have held on you.
It is important to know that I am held to account via the BACP so if you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to ask. Any electronic information I have on you is held on a device that is password protected with a two stage verification process. All information whether electronic or paper is kept in a locked drawer in and locked room within a secure property.
By BACP standards I must keep your Information (once therapy has begun) for 7 years. All notes are brief and non identifiable other than the assessment and your initial contact via this website. All this information is also kept under the strictest confidence. However please do not put any sensitive information on your initial contact, just your first name and contact details are all that is needed and I will gather more information when I contact you back.
